Uniqueness of Christian Counseling

The Bible is the final standard of authority for the counselor; not a particular philosophy of man. Practical guidelines are found in the Bible for responsible behavior.
The indwelling power of God and responsible actions of man work together for solutions.
The past is not denied, but dealt with
(I John 1:9) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
A relationship of spiritual love can develop from the counselor to the counselee, giving to the counselee the love and self-worth they need.
The message of restoration knows no barriers. Jesus said "...and him that cometh to me I will no wise cast out." (John 6:37b)
Christian counseling ministers to the whole person: spirit, soul and body. "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (IThes. 5:23)
